Quilda is a female African crested porcupine and a minor character in Zootopia.
Role in the Film
Quilda is first seen near the middle of the film when Judy Hopps is attempting to arrest Nick Wilde for his pawpsicle scams. Quilda is standing with the fox and rabbit as they argue at the crosswalk.
As Quilda begins to cross the street, Nick Wilde follows in her wake, using her quills as protection from the herd of wildebeest crossing in the other direction.
At the end of the film, Quilda can be seen interviewing Mayor Lionheart about the savage mammals. Lionheart states that while he did imprison the savage mammals, it was with good intentions.
- Quilda is the only African crested porcupine ever to be seen in the film.
- Zootopia: The Essential Guide gives Quilda the name "Muriel".
- In the original screenplay, Quilda's role of interviewing Lionheart belonged to a cut character named Kitty Cowlick.
- Quilda's name is a play on her species, since porcupines have quills.
