Role in the Game
While searching for the suspect who made a large purchase at Vermin's with a stolen credit card, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find extremely expensive and expired coupons that were covered in cement in a trash bag. Judy suggests that Nolte the construction worker might know anything about the coupons being in the cement. They go to Nolte and Judy asks about the coupons that were covered in the cement. He says they drive a hard bargain, which Nick was going to say. Nolte says he's an entertainer, tell jokes, play music, the whole package. He also mentions that Phyllis, his landlord, is a "die-hard couponer" and suggests that maybe they're hers.
After the case is solved, Nolte tells Judy and Nick that he lost his songbook with all his highly original compositions. He says he dropped it in the cement and asks them to search for it so he doesn't get his hands dirty. Nick says he wouldn't want to get his hands dirty. Nolte says he's an artist and he only does construction work to pay the bills, support his family, and provide him with a sense of purpose.
They find the booklet in the cement. Judy thinks that's Nolte's songbook or some random booklet. The lab cleans the booklet and Clawhauser tells them that it is a songbook. He mentions it has the one Gazelle song and sings it. Judy happily says that's her favorite song and they give the songbook to Nolte. Nolte thanks them and mentions the Gazelle song. He sings it, until Nick cuts him out saying he's welcome.
- Nolte and Merle share the same character model.
