The Beaver construction workers are minor characters in Zootopia.
Role in the Film
The beaver construction workers are seen briefly between the first and second quarters of the film. During Judy Hopps's "walk and talk" attempt to arrest Nick Wilde for his Pawpsicle scams, they approach the beavers.
The beaver construction workers are using their flat tails to smooth the wet cement they are spreading for a new sidewalk. They glare at Judy as she accidentally steps into their cement, while Nick saunters off.
Role in Literature
While pursuing a squirrel baby, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde spot her perched on top of a beaver construction worker's head. Nick drives their scooter right through the construction workers' cement in an attempt to grab the baby squirrel, splattering the beavers with the wet cement.
Lion Teethfest is talking excitedly about the New Year's celebration taking place in just a moment, when he is informed that the power has gone out. The beaver construction workers are ordered to take on the job. They enter the pineapple (which is about to drop), and the beavers jump onto each other's shoulders, forming a column. The beaver at the top reaches for a light at the top of the inside of the pineapple, but just then, the one at the bottom notices a loose plug. He plugs it in just in time for the pineapple to regain power and drop, saving the celebration.
- The comic Zoo Year's Eve gives one of the beavers the name "Arnie".
